How Workflow Edits Affect the Workspace: Client Profile vs. Company Library

Understand how changes made in the client profile or company library impact the workspace.

Updated over a week ago

If I add, update, or delete a task or deactivate a workflow from the client profile, does it update the workspace?

Yes, but only for upcoming recurrences. The current day and past recurrences will not be affected.

Please note: if a recurrence was originally scheduled for today or earlier but has been moved to a future date, it will not be treated as an upcoming recurrence—so the update will not appear.

To better understand how this works, try activating a workflow that occurs on multiple days within the same week, starting today. Then, make the task edits from the client profile and see how they reflect on the workspace.

Why past and current recurrences don’t update automatically

This ensures that work that is currently in progress isn’t disrupted. In addition, completed task stay accurate for audit or tracking purposes

If I edit or archive a workflow from the company library, does it update the workspace or client profile?

Edits made in the company library won’t update workflows that have already been added to a client.

You can edit or deactivate a workflow directly within the client profile. The update will be reflected in the next recurrence on the workspace.

Why company library edits don’t override client workflows?

Once a workflow is added to a client, it becomes tailored to their needs. Automatically overwriting a client-specific workflow could disrupt the process you’ve built. For example, tasks from the company template may be removed if they’re not relevant, and instructions are often customized for each client.
